Readers deserve to know how a site that recommends products makes its money. This page sets out where CodeNexon stands today and the rules we will follow as that changes.

Where we stand today

At the date shown above:

  • No affiliate links. The links to vendors in our guides are plain links. We earn nothing if you click them or buy.
  • No sponsored content. No company has paid for a mention, a review or a placement.
  • No display advertising. The site does not run ads.
  • No free products or accounts have been accepted from the companies we write about.

CodeNexon is owned, developed and managed by Quavento Technologies, which funds the site.

If that changes

We expect to add affiliate partnerships in future, since that is how most independent guide sites are funded. When we do, these rules apply.

  1. Clear labels. Any page that contains affiliate links will say so near the top of the page and near the links, in plain language.
  2. No extra cost to you. An affiliate commission is paid by the vendor and does not change the price you pay.
  3. Recommendations come first. Which product we recommend is decided by the evidence in the guide, not by which company pays a commission or how much.
  4. Sponsored content is marked. Anything a company has paid for will be labeled as sponsored at the top. A sponsor may check facts. A sponsor may not approve our conclusions.
  5. Link attributes. Affiliate and sponsored links will carry the rel="sponsored" attribute so search engines can identify them.
  6. This page is updated first. The date above will change, and the list of relationships will appear here.

These rules follow the US Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements, which asks for disclosures that are clear, close to the claim and easy to notice.

How recommendations are made

Our guides compare products using information each vendor publishes: prices, plan limits, terms and documentation. Each figure carries the date it was checked and a link to its source.

Where we have not tested a product hands-on, the guide says so. We do not describe something as "tested" unless we ran the test ourselves and can show the result. The full approach is in the Editorial Policy.
